EFFIE HICKS PSYCHOTHERAPY WELCOMES YOU
Do you have a particular life obstacle that you would like to overcome? Sometimes, seeking help from a qualified therapist who has been trained to actively and attentively listen to you is the best way to put things into perspective. I believe in healing the whole person which includes mind, body and spirit. I will guide you through all of life’s challenges with the attention and care you deserve.

ABOUT ME
My name is Effie Hicks, a qualified psychotherapist based in Herne Hill, South East London.
I have a Masters degree in psychotherapy and healing and I am a registered member with BACP. I hold private and voluntary sector experience as a counsellor and psychotherapist with adults, couples, and children.
I work as an integrative psychotherapist providing therapy in a friendly and supportive environment. My approach is psychodynamic, focusing on understanding unconscious processes.
I can offer help with the following:

Depression
Anger management
Anxiety and stress
Cultural issues
Personal development
Relationships
Self esteem
Abuse
Trauma
Bereavement
Sleep problems
Jungian dream analysis
Play therapy (children)
It was the experience of having been a client myself and seen how much I gained from my own therapy, that inspired me to train and qualify as a psychotherapist. Even though making that first step is hard, it is undeniably a step towards healing. I will work with you and support you with an open mind, warmth and understanding as you heal, change and grow.

ABOUT THERAPY
I implement effective psychotherapy methods to gradually establish self-understanding among clients and encourage them to adopt new attitudes and feelings towards life situations. It is essential to keep in mind that therapy is not a magic pill or a quick fix: therapy is a healing process that requires participation and investment from the client and therapist alike. Making small changes to self-defeating behaviour and learning to manage and cope with feelings of sadness, fear, and pain can bring life-altering results.
